Our scholarships are designed to support African-American students by covering the cost of their academic books. If you’re passionate about your education and meet our eligibility criteria, we encourage you to apply. Here’s a simple guide to help you through our application process.
Step-1
Check Eligibility
- African-American student from the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA throughout your college education.
- Demonstrate financial need for book support.
Step-2
Prepare Your Documents
You’ll need the following documents ready to submit with your application:
- High School Transcript An official document showing your academic performance.
- Proof of College Enrollment A letter of acceptance or a current enrollment certificate
- Contact Information Your current contact details, including email and phone number.
- Anticipated Major Information about your intended field of study.
- Essay Submission A 750-word essay on how a book has positively impacted your life.
Step-3
Submit Your Application
Our application is entirely online. Follow these steps to submit:
- Fill Out the Application Form: Complete all required fields in our online application form.
- Upload Your Documents: Attach your transcript, proof of enrollment, and essay in the specified format.
- Review & Submit: Double-check your application for accuracy, then submit it before the deadline.
Step-4
Await Notification
- Application Review: Our Board will review applications after the submission deadline.
- Interviews: Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview to discuss their application further.
- Decision: You will be notified via email of our decision. All decisions are final.
